on Christmas morning
after dreams of Santa Claus
children are yawning
only tracks of sleigh and hoof
remain in snow on the roof

My response to Carpe Diem Seven Days Before Christmas 2016 #7 Twas The Night Before Christmas
In the last episode of our special feature ‘Seven Days Before Christmas 2016’, Chèvrefeuille is inspiring us with tradition. He says there are a lot of traditions around Christmas, but he thinks the most beautiful is the American tradition to read the poem ‘A Visit From St Nicholas’ by Clement Clarke Moore, which is why he has incorporated another special feature: ‘Carpe Diem Distillation’. The goal of CDHK Distillation is to create a haiku or tanka inspired on a given poem. He has shared an introduction to the poem and reproduced it in its entirety, along with the challenge to create a haiku or tanka distilled from the poem.
Very nice !
