fire-breathing
monstrous soul sibling
disparate
blood hybrid
nemesis and chimera
the darkest sister

My response to Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie Saturday Mix — Lorraine
At Lorraine’s Saturday Mix, we play in a sandbox of words writing flash, microfiction and poetry. This week, she has offered two pieces of micro-fiction and a poem. I chose the poem.
The poetry form this week is a shadorma (3/5/3/3/7/5). We can write one stanza or multiple stanzas. Lorraine wants us to a theme word this week, ‘chimera’, which has multiple meanings — we are free to explore. She has also shared an example:
so fleeting
a whole breath then gone
reaching for
aching for
chimera beats against heart
then spinning away
