veiling the mountain
rainclouds gather at the peak
a fresh spring shower

My response to Carpe Diem honors Jane Reichhold (1937-2017) E.) Fuji No Yama
In a new episode of our special Theme Week, Chèvrefeuille has shared more of Jane’s writing to inspire us. This time we have a few spring haiku from her book A Dictionary of Haiku, a modern saijiki:
morning breeze
coming in the window
surf sounds
changing forms
all around the Buddha
clouds in a blue sky
clouds
flooding the river
with spring
spring cloud melt
flooding river willows
green leaves
