Hospitable Barn

a barn by a lane
baked with mud and straw
a tissue of holes
burrowed by rain, wind and mice
decorates the broken door

My response to Carpe Diem #1138 hospitality

There are only three days left in January and we are nearly at Santiago De Compostela, walking the Road to Santiago together with Paulo Coelho, author of The Pilgrimage.

Chèvrefeuille has found a film about The Road to Santiago De Compostela and a link to it – it’s called ‘The Way’.

He says that along The Road to Santiago you can always find shelter at old barns, small villages, hotels, homes: one of the ‘laws’ of the Road to Santiago is that, as a pilgrim wearing the St. James Scallop, you always will find a place to stay, rest, eat, drink and sleep.
