trees burst into bloom
elbowing old man winter
blossoms wave goodbye

My response to Carpe Diem #1297 White Hand of Moses
In our month exploring The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, today Chèvrefeuille tells us we are skipping ahead to the 4th verse and the ‘White Hand of Moses’:
Now the New Year reviving old Desires,
The thoughtful Soul to Solitude retires,
Where the white hand of Moses on the Bough
Puts out, and Jesus from the Ground suspires.

the word “elbowing” is so striking – normally associated with an action somewhat aggressive, yet these feels non-confrontational – striking image you’ve penned Kim!
