shell secrets swept clean
carried on the ocean’s breath
only seagulls cry

My response to Carpe Diem Crossroads #1 Introduction to a new feature and a first try
I love Chèvrefeuille’s new feature which he says will help to improve our haiku skills by challenging us to create new haiku inspired by two or more poems. He says that we should imagine we are at a crossroad where two haiku come together, ‘have a conversation’ and ‘decide’ to become one: the symbiosis of a new haiku.
In this episode, we should ‘fuse’ the following haiku, using the words from both haiku or creating a new haiku with new words:
alone on the beach
only the cries of seagulls –
breathing silence

and
young leaves
I would like to wipe away
tears in your eyes
© Basho
Nicely done. What a lovely idea to explore.
