My response to Carpe Diem Weekend Meditation #34 Revise That Haiku … Kikaku’s Dragonfly
In the last weekend Meditation of May our challenge is to revise a haiku by a classical haiku poet, attempting to improve the haiku without losing the scene it’s about. For this episode we have a haiku by Kikaku (1661-1707), one of Basho’s disciples:
red dragonfly
break off its wings
sour cherry

Alright, you have the right one linked now. I rather liked this prompt of revising another’s haiku didn’t you? I like what you came up with, Kim, well done!
