My response to Carpe Diem #1451 young maple-leaves (waka kaede)

Today we have another summer kigo from the sub-division ‘plants’: maple-leaves (waka kaeda).

*A samara is a type of fruit in which a flattened wing of fibrous, papery tissue develops from the ovary wall. In some cases the seed is on one side, with the wing extending to the other side, making the seed auto-rotate as it falls, as in maples (genus Acer). (Source: Wikipedia)
