My response to Carpe Diem #1527 Rustling Leaves (extreme haibun)
In a month when all themes are following the alphabet, today we’ve arrived at the letter R for ‘rustling leaves’. The challenge is to create an extreme haibun, which may have a maximum of 60 words (tenfold our 6th anniversary) including haiku or tanka, which must follow the classical rules. An optional challenge is to create our haibun with a lay-out of leaves.
Well done!

Absolutely fantastic! What a most engaging haibun and fantastic haiku! Extreme indeed – this sent shivers down my spine — I could see the copper of the beech (isn’t it amazing how that particular sheen and hue catches the light? – it’s gorgeous!) and the trees for their limbs … and I really am tripping wild over the haiku – scribbles, sepia and crayon of wind? stunning!
This is definitely an absolute fave for me Kim!

Thank you, Pat! I have to admit that I’m pleased with it too. It took a while to get the shape right. The haiku came first this time round. 🙂
