My response to Carpe Diem #1540 chrysanthemums

We have been given examples of haiku on chrysanthemums, all by classical masters, to inspire us to create our own chrysanthemum beauties.

  1. it’s certainly a way to bring the colours in and warm oneself inside out! I was reading up on it, in curiosity, knowing there are many health benefits, and it has long been drunk in China, but I was wondering about it’s taste – have you ever tried it Kim?

    1. A long time ago when I was in my late teens/early twenties and I was living in Germany, I tried pretty much every tea there was available. We used to buy tea in Holland because there was such a huge choice. The only tea that didn’t agree with me was gunpowder tea. 😉

      1. oh, yup, gunpowder tea – it’s … peculiar and particular, and definitely has a bite to it. peppery.

        I too used to drink lots of herbal teas – but I was never fond of the “overly floral” ones, so I wonder about “mum tea” … anyhow, I’m not about to go wandering to try – I’ll content my self with Hibiscus!
