My response to Carpe Diem #1811: Valentine’s Day
Today is Valentine’s day, for many a day to send cards to secret lovers or give gifts to the ones they love.
Reblogged this on Frank J. Tassone and commented:

Yes, it does.
I stopped buying into the commercialized romance aspect years ago. I like the heart images and I like chocolate. So I started thinking of Valentine’s day as Chocolate Hearts Day.

Seriously, WordPress, again?
An once again I forgot to copy before trying to post.
I fully agree that VD (as I started calling it) makes things worse for the lovelorn. I stopped considering it a “romantic” holiday a good 20 years ago because it just made me unhappy to think of it that way. I like the heart images and I like chocolate. So, it’s now Chocolate Hearts Day, and the chocolate hearts I buy myself are just as good as any that Prince Charming might buy me.
I decided a long time ago that Prince Charming was gay. So if he buys me chocolate hearts, it’s strictly platonic.

At least this time I remembered to copy the comment. WordPress has eaten my comments both when I try to comment using my WordPress account and with my Facebook account. What gives?
Anyway, here’s the comment. Hopefully it goes through this time.

We’re in the Twilight Zone! All of your comments went to trash, without even being spammed! I have read them all, Cara. Thank you for going to so much trouble – it’s appreciated. I often wonder if all of my comments are received. Chocolate Hearts day it is! 🙂
