Once in a Super Blue Moon

In the wee hours of a late summer morning, I wake up to a full moon, a huge lantern outside the window. Its beams penetrate the slats of the blinds, sending moon shadows dancing on the wall, painting the cat silver as she sleeps at the end of the bed. I pad downstairs and it feels as if the moon has followed me; the kitchen is bathed in moonlight – a magical way to start a late August day.

waking from a dream
new day breaks the horizon
a fruitful harvest

It’s the last Monday in August and Frank is back at the dVerse Poets Pub with a haibun prompt about the extraordinary Super Blue Moon.

  2. I really like the moon shadows and the image of the cat. It does feel like the moonlight is following one through the room. Of course now you and Bjorn have that song playing in my head 🙂
