Thankful that I am free to walk pretty much wherever I want, say what is on my mind, and write from the heart, every day unfurls as it must, and I follow my usual route. The sun is shining, the horses grazing, and the grass growing tall. I stop to watch rabbits gambolling in the meadow, and a dragonfly helicopters by. Continuing on my way, I watch as a clattering of jackdaws explodes from a tree, chastising me for disturbing their roosting.
‘It wasn’t me!’ I call as they disappear into the cloudy sky. Indeed it wasn’t; a red tractor approaches round the bend, bouncing and puttering up the lane.
‘Nice day for it!’ calls the farmer, lifting a hand in greeting.
I smile to myself. No need to hurry, nothing to hurry home for. All the time and freedom to carry on walking.

Monday has come around again and with it Prosery at the dVerse Poets Pub, where Lisa is sharing her life in a cup of tea and a poem by Adrienne Su.
Lisa reminds us that Prosery is the prompt in which we write prose based on given lines of poetry. It can be flash-fiction or creative non-fiction, but cannot exceed 144 words in total (not including the title) and must not be poetry (no versification, line breaks, metre, etc.).
Lisa says that she is not the only one who enjoys drinking tea and reminds us that when we were children, most households only had one kind of tea: she had Lipton’s and in the UK we had PG Tips (the one with the chimps in the advert). In the seventies, when I lived in Germany, we often made trips to Amsterdam, to the tea shop where there was a huge range including jasmine, gunpowder, cherry blossom tea and oolong. I drink cranberry and raspberry, peppermint and camomile tea these days.
Lisa says that tea has become a way of life for her. Being a Brit, I get that, and I enjoyed Adriennes Su’s poem, Oolong, from which Lisa has taken a line to be included in our prose: “every day unfurls as it must”. I went for non-fiction this time, and a little bit of autobiography.
your day unfurls so easily Kim and I love all the characters that joined in

Kim, you can’t have a more idyllic atmosphere than that. Every piece falls together just-so. I also appreciate you giving your “tea past and present” preferences. Your current choices sound so tasty. I usually drink jasmine tea at Chinese restaurants.

Such a picturesque scene, Kim—I especially love the way your choice verbs (“gamboling,” “helicoptering”) add color and depth to your walk!

Lovely piece and I love your desire not to be in a hurry as well. Isn’t that just a wonderful feeling. Nicely done. Do you currently live in Norfolk, VA? We moved from NC to VA almost one year ago. Many blessings❤️🤗❤️

Thank you so much for reading and commenting I live in Norfolk in England, the county with historical connections to North America; it had the biggest percentage of known passengers on The Mayflower.

Thank you, Melissa. We went out on the Norfolk Broads on a boat with a man who really knows his local wildlife and we saw so many dragon and damsel flies. That must have been on the last sunny day we had before all the rain, Thankfully, its quite sunny this morning.
