Cosmic Jam

As a child, she’d capture in jars
ladybirds, beetles and caterpillars,
any interesting bugs – they always expired.

She swooned at the full moon and swirls of stars,
and tried to catch the cosmos in her empty jars.
Now her cosmic jam’s most desired.

It’s the first Monday in August, and De is our host for the dVerse Poets Pub Quadrille, which she says is a pocket-sized poem of just 44 words, not counting the title, and including one word that’s provided. De would like us to give her a jar full of poems. She says we can use the word ‘jar’ as a noun, verb, or adjective, rhyme it, or not.
