My response to Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie and Wordle #93
Leda’s loculus:
In a sacrosanct place
Where no irreverent swan
Can show its face
Or jagged genitals
To humiliate
Her memory.
Once the gods dragged
It by its iron rings
To hinder violation
By a false deity,
Genuflect
And pray in piety.

Thank you! I try to be economical with words and concise with meaning but one day soon I would like to write a poem longer than a sonnet or three or four stanzas. Most of the work I post on WordPress is what I call ‘scribbling’: practice pieces I develop or join with other pieces to enter into competitions and send to publishers. I suppose I am trying them out on you all as my audience!

Short is something I love too. But then its all in the flow .. sometimes you just can not stop.
