“For poems are like rainbows; they escape you quickly.”
—Langston Hughes, The Big Sea
I press poems
to my naked skin;
they escape so quickly
I must anchor them
with pen and ink
like ephemeral
rainbow tattoos.
Poetic butterflies
and dragonflies
take flight,
damsels in distress
I long to press
between pages,
paper cages
for dissolving images.

these words are like the fluttering of pages – lovely light touch anchored in paper cages

it really was accidental but evidently inspired by the mood you set here 🙂

Ah, I’ve always hated to have my eureka moments while taking a shower. The urge to write my ideas right at that moment so they won’t escape, is just too powerful. Love this, Kim!

How beautifully put. Everyone has words but only a few can put them together so well. Brilliant Kim.
