I used to dream
Of being someone else, not me.
I used to dream
Of swimming up and not downstream,
A beauty in my fantasy,
Wealthy and famous, not like me.
I used to dream.
Now I am me,
Contented now, life is brighter.
Now I am me:
Older, experienced and free,
A wife, a mother and a writer,
Dreams are reachable, I’m wiser.
Now I am me.

My response to Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie Music Prompt # 57 ‘Stay the Same’ by Joey McIntyre, where Sanaa commented that life is like a mirror and she believes we get the best results when we smile in every situation, to prove our strength and ability. She wants us to write about something that you feel is important to us. I have tried to do this in a double rondelet.
Reblogged this on O LADO ESCURO DA LUA.

Whistles!! ❤❤ This is absolutely gorgeous writing Kim 😀 love how you describe the importance of being yourself here and I guess it does tend to come with experience and age. After all, to be ourselves in a world that is constantly trying to turn us into something else is the greatest accomplishment. Beautifully penned. Thank you so much for participating at MLMM ❤❤
Lots of love,
Sanaa
