Oh, onion moon!
I peel back
Your parchment tunic,
Reveal the icy light within,
Slice psychic knife
Into your skin,
Penetrate your inner sphere,
Your scales and layers
Silvery clear,
Breathe pungent perfume
Of your bitter juice
And pray to you:
Illume
My dreams
Oh, onion moon!

My response to Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie Writing Prompt September 4th: Shine bright, just like the Moon
Today Oloriel continues to explore the Major Arcana of Tarot with the 18th card: The Moon, card of intuition, dreams and the unconscious. The Moon provides light as a reflection of the Sun, yet this light is dim, uncertain, and only vaguely illuminates our path as we journey toward higher consciousness. The Moon often represents the ‘shadow’ self, part of the unconscious mind consisting of repressed weaknesses, shortcomings and instincts.
