as summer shades fade
autumn colours come to life
unfurling fungi

My response to Carpe Diem Special #219 Dolores’ 3rd colourful mushrooms
For today’s CD-Special ‘colourful mushrooms’ Chèvrefeuille has chosen a series of haiku which Dolores wrote in October 2015, in which she captures the spirit and beauty of autumn:
colorful mushrooms
within the decaying tree
new life from old
leaves and clouds
race the setting sun
across the lake
sounds of summer fade
crisp air echoes with crickets
and crunch of dry leaves
sunlight dances
on the back of autumn trees
leaves spiral downward

ThT us a very interesting concept that plays with time, and is beautifulk ly presented. It really brings nature alive and somehow gives the mushrooms character!
I really enjoy the way you encapsulate the word ‘community.’ I noticed less participants for the posts about haiku by Dolores and Ese, but you were there for both. So nice to have quality colleagues like you at cdhk!

Thank you! Sometimes, though, I am unable to comment; on some websites or pages on social media, I type in a comment and nothing happens – I’m not sure why but am in the process of investigating.

Love this post. Brought this to mind:
