My response to Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie Heeding Haiku With Chèvrefeuille September 21st 2016 Revise that haiku

This week Chèvrefeuille has challenged us to ‘revise’ a haiku written by one of the classical haiku poets. He has chosen a haiku by Matsuo Basho (1644-1694) in a translation by Jane Reichhold. He wants us to let the haiku speak to us, to become one with the haiku, the scene described, and be part of the mind of Basho:

knowing it first
on the famous musician’s flute
a snowstorm of flowers
