a rusting rainbow
autumn’s bronze and copper hues
splashed by seagull grey

cranes fly overhead
feathers like cherry blossom
love glows in sunset

sunflower petals
radiant in a blue sky
helianthus clouds

autumn butterfly
in search of summer nectar
floats in a beer glass

My response to Carpe Diem Full Circle #1-2016

For this celebration month, Chèvrefeuille has decided to create three ‘Full Circle’ episodes, starting with the first today. It’s called ‘Full Circle’ because the goal is to write haiku with twelve words – one for every hour – a kind of word-whirl, in which we have to use the words given in a clock-wise direction. So every word has to come in the sequence of its place on the clock e.g. rainbow has to be uses in line one, autumn in line two and so on.

Here are the twelve words we have to use: rainbow, autumn, seagull, crane, cherry blossom, love, sunflower, blue sky, clouds, butterfly, nectar and beer.
