rolling off shore
misty banks of white tendrils
soggy white fingers
lure with promise of treasure
disguised as an autumn day

My response to Carpe Diem Tanka Splendor #2 Mist
I’m just catching up with the second day of Ten Tanka Writing Techniques by Teika, in which Chèvrefeuille has challenged us to create a tanka inspired by ‘mist’ using the first tanka writing technique, ’Mystery and Depth. He also shared a tanka of his own as an example of this technique:
stories told
white witches dancing on the heath
just tendrils of mist
scaring little children
“the boogie-man comes!”

Incredible work.
