in a waking dream
a whirl of wintry kisses
lands on lips and eyes
we’re two excited children
making angels in the snow

My response to Carpe Diem’s Tanka Kukai One ‘winter love’
This is a new feature at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai, in which Chèvrefeuille has set us the challenge to write tanka on the theme ‘Winter Love’. We have one week to respond and then he will ask us to choose one haiku we consider to be the best. The winner of this tanka kukai will be featured in a new Carpe Diem ‘Tanka Splendor’. We can link our tanka until December 15th 10.00 PM (CET).
I love the allusion here to love being the act of making snow angels the shadow of something divine! That is also the best picture of a snow angel I have seen.
