above the rooftops,
ever-present Sacre Coeur –
in a midnight bar
bohemians sip absinthe
and talk art over coffee

My response to Carpe Diem #1093 Concertino pour harpe et piano by Germaine Tailleferre.
I am grateful to Chèvrefeuille for introducing me to a female composer I have never heard of. I was fascinated by the biographical details and will be looking up more of her work.
I love this. I love Montmartre and Sacre Coeur…was immediately there. Great transportation.

It is a lovely tanka Kim. It brought me there, though I have never been, I could sense and see it all.

Thank you, Dorna! How on earth do you find the time to read everything? I’ve got so much catching up to do!

Aye. Honestly, do not know, but I try and just sit down and read non-stop. And still make time to attend to other matters arising throughout my day. (@–>–)

Immediately felt at home … nice response on this composition. I am glad you like the music of Germaine Tailleferre. She was a very gifted composer and I hadn’t heard from her either.

You have introduced me to quite a few new names, Kristjaan, and I’m enjoying the mix of old and new. Thank you!
