branches are still bare
no leaves, blossom or spring scent
tantalising plum

My response to Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie Heeding Haiku With Chèvrefeuille, March 22nd 2017 plum blossom
This week Chèvrefeuille says it’s spring and the plum starts to bloom everywhere around us, so he has challenged us to create haiku with the theme of ‘plum blossom’. He has also shared a haiku by Issa on plum blossom:
plum blossom scent –
when I open my paper door
a bright moon

As well as two of his own:
red plum blooming
while the last snow is melting –
finally Spring
the shivering cold
creeps into my old skeleton –
white plum blossoms

Excellent!

I can remember having snow at Easter a few years ago. I’m hoping for fair weather this year!

Thankfully Easter is later so we should be fine. April 3rd, 1971, my wedding day, it snowed in the evening.
