chilly winter nights
watching snowflakes and stars fall
gaps in the roof tiles

My response to Carpe Diem Summer Retreat 2017 (unconditional) love
For this year’s Summer Retreat, Chèvrefeuille has chosen the theme ‘(unconditonal) love’. The retreat will last for a period of 30 days and the goal is to create haiku or tanka on this theme every day.
Chèvrefeuille says that love is a strong sense, to which each of us responds in a different way. Love is not only something you have for a person, but it can also be for art, literature, nature and haiku.
Lovely, though I’m not sure if I understood that last line 🙂

It’s when you’re so poor you can’t replace a tile in the roof and end up gazing at stars together through the gaps!
