a hundred gourds
from the heart
of one vine Chiyo-Ni (1703-1775)
a hundred gourds
cascading sunset colours
shades of autumn
from the heart
of a small vegetable patch
a healthy harvest
of one vine
calabash for everyone
a grateful village

My response to Carpe Diem Weekend-Meditation #2 Troiku: a hundred gourds
This weekend meditation’s challenge is to create Troiku based on a classical haiku by Chiyo-Ni (1703-1775), the first female haiku poet/master and a disciple of the Way of Basho.
I am happy to read this beautiful Troiku Kim and it makes me happy that you have tried this new creative way of writing haiku. Thank you.

Thank you so much, Krstjaan. Writing every day, it’s not always easy to create something new and original, so your prompts are wonderful inspiration.
