Hope

Hope is
a drop of water
in the midst of drought;

a small boat without oars
but plenty of room
if we squeeze together;

footprints in the dust
that lead to somewhere safe;

a kind hand and an honest smile
on a stranger’s face.

  1. We must never forget–“we are family”. Your hope-examples are accurate, yet rare for some. As Madness & tragedy settle upon us like blood rain, only hope can the the key for egress & ascension.

    1. Thank you, Toni. A friend knew I had my first session of bereavement counselling this week and sent me a card – a small act of kindness to remind me that I’m not alone.

      1. No my dear. You are not alone. I interred my mother’s ashes today in her mother’s grave. It was 97 degrees out and the country soil had baked to clay. It took me an hour to dig the small hole. My aunt came from Tennessee to be with me. A true act of kindness. It is good we haave these angels along the way. Blessings to you. And no, you are never alone as long as I’m in the world.
