I don’t need to change
into a princess or a pumpkin,
a glass slipper or a mouse.
Poetry does that
with its ins and outs
of words and rhymes,
the ups and downs
of stanzas and lines.
Kim M. Russell, 2017

My response to dVerse Poets Pub Tuesday Poetics: Change
Paul is our host today and he tells us that his life has been in full blown transition late, with things continuing to change at a rapid pace – all for the good – which is why the subject for this Poetics is change.
Paul has shared poems by two of his favourite poets on the subject of change: ‘For a New Beginning’ by John O’Donohue and ‘The Way It Is’ by William Stafford
So we are writing poems about change.
Love to be change by poetry… the magic is in syllables… delightful

Thinking of you as I cut the tops of fingers out of my gloves–more change you helped to bring about. Poetry as change, as it morphs, slides, glides and waltzes through its own transitions–I can dig it,

I love it! the poem and the pic of Cinderella in glasses. I so like that we don’t need to changed into something false or artificial but that poetry transforms us into something better. Good work!

And Cinderella is wearing black, my favourite (non-)colour!

Thank you, Xenia! Well, David has gone, he should be in Aberdeen by now, and it’s been raining here – no snow yet. 🙂 xxx

Never change who you are – lovely twist on the ideas of change and flow – and may you continue to be poetically challenged and inspired, for many years to come. Allowing words and ideas to string themselves, is effective and delightful change of itself. 🙂
