The sky is a palette of blue,
empty of birds, only broken clouds
sing their poignant tunes;
mainland and islands chime loud
with blues of their own;
and the sea joins in
with a harmony,
an aquamarine melody
to pilot a tired fisherman home.

My response to Sue Vincent’s Daily Echo Thursday photo prompt – Blue #writephoto
For the last writephoto prompt of 2017 Sue has chosen a photo of the half-light, a point of transition between day and night – I see it as a morning shot. I love the colours in this one, Sue! Here’s a little quadrille that I might develop into something more substantial in the New Year.

It gives a great feeling knowing everyone would chip in. Happy New Year, Kim!
