the roundest word

the roundest word
I know
is
bounce

a happy dog
a curl of hair
a rainbow-coloured
beach ball in the air
happy feet
on rubber soles
the echoing cheer
for a winning goal
the bending note
of a down-tuned bass
an astronaut in space

My response to dVerse Poets Pub Quadrille: Bounce

This week De is our host and she tells us that, every January, she picks a word for the year. This year, she’s chosen the word BOUNCE.  She’d like us to bounce along with her. We can use it as an adjective, a verb, a noun, even get clever with some hyphens or parentheses. We must just be sure some form of the word ‘bounce’ appears in our poems.
