My response to Carpe Diem’s Winter Retreat 2018 Peace Within
For Carpe Diem’s Winter Retreat 2018, Chèvrefeuille has challenged us to create a haiku or tanka inspired on the theme of ‘Peace Within’ every day during a period of 30 days, until February 15th.
When I was bringing in the washing in yesterday’s twilight, I heard the most musical bird singing in the cherry tree. I looked up and there was the rosy breast of a robin, its beak wide open, trilling away on the bottom branch. I crept into the house, picked up my camera and crept back out again. Just as I zoomed in on the robin and was about to click, it flew off to the top of another tree to resume its singing and the photo opportunity was gone. However, I hope I have captured it in a haiku.
Those birds never stay in a place. Your post puts a smile on my face 🙂
