My response to Carpe Diem #1432 Yanachaga–Chemillén National Park
Today on our Andean journey, we are visiting Yanachaga-Chemillén National Park, which is situated in the Pasco Region of Peru. It is home to the Ctenophryne Barbatula, one of world’s tiniest species of frogs and the Andean Cock-of-the-Rock (Rupicola peruvianus), also known as tunki (Quechua), a large passerine bird of the Cotinga family, native to Andean cloud forests, the national bird of Peru.
In praise of this wonderful and colorful bird.
