Fingers of light stroke
the dew-soaked
grass, sparkle in the dew,
flicker through the willow;
I raise the window
blind and let them in.
On my lap
there’s a warm cat,
in my hand
my favourite cup
of tea to sip.
All around me
calm and quiet –
a poem blooms.

My response to Poets United Midweek Motif ~ Happiness
Susan has shared quotes and poems about happiness, this midweek’s motif. She says that happiness is a balm and some say that kindness amplifies it for giver and receiver. Our challenge is to describe in a new poem an instant and/or duration of happiness.
writing in north norfolk 
“in my hand
my favourite cup
of tea to sip.”…….Aw…This is pure happiness, specially because a poem is blooming with cup of tea in the poet’s hand. Aha. Heavenly.
