the rattling of reeds
ruffled by the chilly wind
the cool wall’s shelter
the rattling of reeds
wakes me from my midday nap
the artless garden
ruffled by the chilly wind
shades of green surge and billow
in a waking dream
the cool wall’s shelter
covered with moss and lichen
cushion for my feet

My response to Carpe Diem Crossroads #13 chilly coolness
In a new episode of the CDHK feature ‘Crossroads’”, we are challenged to create a ‘fusion’ haiku from two given haiku and then create a troiku from the your ‘fusion’ haiku. The two haiku ate by Matsuo Basho and have been taken from Jane Reichhold’s Basho, the Complete Haiku:
chilly coolness
my feet on the wall
for a midday nap
the color of wind
planted artlessly
in a garden of reeds

Wonderful fusion Kim and you have created a very nice troiku with it.
