blossoming plum trees
eclipsing lunar mountains
petals in my tea
blossoming plum trees
soaked by a rain-filled breeze
an April wedding
eclipsing lunar mountains
streaked with morning
a blood orange sun
petals in my tea
pink ships on the horizon
delectable dream

My response to Carpe Diem Weekend Meditation #43 Troiku Challenge: My Lucky Tea
This weekend’s meditation is a Troiku Challenge, in which we have two haiku to work with: first we have to create a so-called fusion haiku and then create a Troiku from that fusion haiku.
The two haiku are by Kobayashi Issa (1763-1828):
tonight’s moon–
how many mountains resemble
the ones back home?
going outside
plum blossoms dive in…
my lucky tea

I really like the fusion and then the troiku – and the image of tea and petals and dreams floating … it’s all very lovely and sets this lovely little scene in my head – very zen/fusion and I feel a great sense of calm reading this – as well as the delicious promise of hope for dreams to come 🙂

Chapeau Kim! A nice fusion-haiku and your Troiku is a real beauty. I always love to challenge our haiku-family with this feature. It’s a big surprise to read all of your different approaches

The troiku flows beautifully. The image of plum trees eclipsing lunar mountains is wonderful.
