Morning creeps on feline feet
gentle and velvety dark,
clambers over the garden gate
and lands in dewy grass.
She dances in between the trees,
her light translucent glass,
leaving dewy diamonds
wherever her feet pass.

My response to Poets United Midweek Motif: Morning Poem
Sumana asks us to capture in new poems the time when the day is new and we are out of our slumber. She has given us inspiration with a haiku from Basho, a quote from Khalil Gibran and lines from Langston Hughes, as well as poems by Mary Oliver, Emily Dickinson, Baudelaire and Paul Laurence Dunbar.
How sweet is her dance! Love that photo too.

I’m Breathless! Taking Sandburg’s Fog in a totally new direction–brilliant! I love the image of clambering turning to dancing. I also clamber before I can take up the day’s dance, but I don’t leave “dewy diamonds”! Thank you–and thank you for your comment on my “Morning Impressions.”

Ooh, you took that image and spread it all around us. Love the wild action and free spirit — feline, creeping, clambering, and dancing.
It is so beautiful and visually appealing in this light. ❤

What an enchanting scene, Kim; I can see that pretty kitty, so light on her furry feet, in dawn’s early light.

The footprints tell us a lot about the creature who passed there. Love this poem!
