a certain calm
in summer’s passing
flowers
a faded dew-soaked daisy
quivers in a spider’s web
flat seas
with the butterfly’s flight
a certain calm
a solitary seashell
awaits early morning sun
the hour silent
before the birds awake
waves on sand
yesterday’s feathers tangled
in sea lavender and grass

My response to Carpe Diem Weekend Meditation #68 Tan Renga With Jane Reichhold “her gentle spirit”
On January 18th, Jane Reichhold would have been 82 years old, if she hadn’t decided to end her own life because she couldn’t live with the pain of fibromyalgia. The challenge for this weekend meditation is to create tan renga with three given haiku written by Jane.
Spiders, shells, and feathers…perfect! (K)
