opening curtains
after a long dark winter
sunny day bursts in
A haiku I wrote and posted on 17th February 2016, which I’d forgotten about but describes today perfectly.
the sky is bluer
birds are singing once again
caressed by sunshine

My response to Carpe Diem Weekend Meditation #72 Introducing a new feature: Poetry Archive (1)
This weekend we have a new meditation feature called ‘Poetry Archive’, in which we are invited to dive into our poetry archives and share haiku, tanka or other Japanese poetry forms, explaining why we chose them, and then create new poetry inspired by the poems we have chosen.
Spring is in the air!

Awesome haiku Kim. I like your chosen haiku and the new created haiku is a real beauty. If it’s ok I love to use it for our new Tan Renga Challenge of Monday February 18th.
