My response to Imaginary Garden with Real Toads Weekend Challenge: Season Your Poetry
Toni is hosting this weekend with some season words or kigo for spring. She reminds us that the haiku is all about being in the moment and all about nature. She says that we don’t have to write haiku, we can write a brief poem in any form about a kigo in spring, and she’s given us a list of spring kigo to help. I chose to write a haiku.
Excellent haiku. Bravo! I love kites and especially love them in March when it is so windy. Your haiku brings the very essence of early spring to our part of the world. Thank you!

I can hear and feel and smell this one. The colors are bright, the wind a dance, and the imagery is the best of promises (especially for those of us still freezing).

So much joy in your spring… Still quite a lot of time until it’s time for cherry blossoms

Thank you so very much, Kim. It brought memories of London in the spring. Cherry trees blooming all over the walkways. The breezes did have their often heavy perfumed scent.
