a single puddle
beside an abandoned car
leaking rainbows

My response to Carpe Diem 1646 Puddles (modern kigo)
In another episode in which we are exploring the season words (kigo) for spring, we have another modern kigo for spring taken from Jane Reichhold’s Dictionary of Haiku: ‘puddles’:
floating clouds
down from the mountain
a puddle of rain
in mud puddles
in a strange sky over
a stranger land
in puddles
the pattern of raindrops
dyes the hills green
