My response to Carpe Diem Weekend Meditation #86 A New Feature: Carpe Diem’s Utopia

This weekend we are meditating with a new feature: Carpe Diem’s Utopia, based on the idea of a perfect place, community or society. The goal of this new feature is to create utopian (excellent) haiku or tanka, using the classical rules.

  1. When I was a kid growing up in New Mexico, the honeysuckle smell filled the air on summer nights. That may be surprising to hear about New Mexico. We were extremely poor, but on those nights it didn’t feel like it.

    1. I don’t know much about New Mexico, but I felt the same growing up in South London. We may not have had much, but my grandmother’s small garden was full of flowers and scents.
