salty surf trickles
among pebbles in the sand
caressing hot skin
orchestra of crashing waves
tinged with sunset’s afterglow

My response to Carpe Diem #1696 Beach Love
In today’s Summer Love episode, the challenge is to create Tanka (only tanka) on the theme of Beach Love and try to bring in a sexual, sensual or erotic feeling.
That movie scene was considered so suggestive in its day! And, like your poem, is perhaps all the more erotic because of what is suggested and then left to the imagination.

I’m not a fan of explicit – suggestion is sexier!

I’ve only been to the beach once in my life. I learned that it’s best to wear a one-piece suit after I stood up and my draws dropped to my ankles.
I also ended up with sun poisoning which left my shoulders and upper chest covered with tiny blisters. It itched like anything!

You have my sympathy. I have to cover up in the sun or I get blisters too!
