My response to Carpe Diem #1718 Bougainvillea (CD Imagination)
Today in our ‘Field Of Flowers’ we have a flowering bush called bougainvillea and the challenge is to create a Japanese poem inspired by a given image.
Beautiful! I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a bougainvillea in person. They grow in the Southern U.S. I think they need more moisture than we get on the lone prairie.

Loved this haiku. The thorns are lethal. Pruning is horrendous.

I hate those thorns! They grow like weeds all over San Diego, but still pretty!
