we take wildflowers
replant them in love’s garden
sometimes they wither
with longing for lost freedom
but oh, how they can blossom!

My response to Carpe Diem #1729 Wildflower variety: Use That Quote
Today we have a quote from the Persian poet Rumi to work with:
“There are as many ways of loving as there are people, and that wildflower variety is the great beauty of this dimension of existence.”
The challenge is to create a haiku, tanka or other form of Japanese poetry, which is about love and wildflowers.
At this stage of my life, I’m not much for trying to tame anything. I’m too blamed tired!

I love this verse, so often I would dig up wild flowers that were so beautiful that I just had to have them in my garden. Sure enough they would wither and die and then I felt so guilty for removing them from there home.
