My response to Carpe Diem #1759 Grasshopper
Today’s small creature in the celebratory prompt is the grasshopper.
An example haiku inspired by the grasshopper is by Issa:
giddy grasshopper
take care…do not leap and crush
these pearls of dewdrop
writing in north norfolk 
They take many leaps of faith each day. I think if they knew how often they come close to being a meal for a bird or such, they would be too terrified to move!

I haven’t seen a grasshopper in a long time. We do have a lot of birds in our garden.
