a glint of orange
dancing on the horizon
bare branches rejoice

My response to Carpe Diem #1796 New Beginnings: first sunray
Today our prompt is ‘first sunray’, and we’ve been given an example by Matsuo Basho to inspire us:
Mume ga ka ni notto hi no deru yamaji kana
Scents of Ume blossoms ―
The sun rises like a marvel
Ah, this mountain path
I love ‘dancing on the horizon’!

This is really beautiful. Mine just ended up being silly.
