My response to Carpe Diem’s Tan Renga Wednesday (9): I ate a persimmon

It’s Tan Renga Wednesday and our challenge is to complete a tan renga by adding the second stanza of two lines with approximately 7-7 syllables. This week we’ve been given a haiku by Shiki.
