bouquet of pheasants
bursts from rusty moorland ferns
a breath of heather

My response to Carpe Diem Time Challenge #3 Moorland
I only just spotted this little teaser that Chèvrefeuille created for us yesterday! It’s an episode of ‘Carpe Diem Time Challenge’, in which we create a haiku, tanka or other Japanese poetry form with a theme within 48 hours.
He says, at this time of year, at least on the Northern Hemisphere. the moorlands are in full bloom and wandering the moorlands is so relaxing, being one with nature, its beauty, the silence, smelling the heather, listening to the birds sing, and touching the fragile flowers of the heather.
He has shared two of his own haiku as inspiration for us to create our masterpieces. This Time Challenge will remain open until September 22nd at noon (CEST).
So lovely Kim, the scent of heather seems extra powerful this year too xxx
