Poltergeist

Its words were smashing
crockery,
pots and pans crashing
in the kitchen, knocking
on the walls,
communicating
through sound.
We didn’t understand
and, with no interpreter to hand,
we moved out,
leaving the dilemma
to others,
and the poltergeist
was left lonely and quiet.

It’s Monday again and at the dVerse Poets Pub it’s time for the Quadrille, ‘that pithy little creation of our own making: simply a poem of exactly 44 words (not counting the title), including one specific word’, provided by our smashing host, De. Today, we are playing with the word ‘smash’.

  1. I can’t help but feel a little sorry for the guy… maybe he was just excited to have someone around?! 😉 A very clever poem – I really like he first line and the sounds you used… great take on the prompt, Kim!
